Carmangay seniors’ home to be closed

There may be only about 275 people living in the small community of Carmangay, but they are determined to fight back against Alberta Health Services (AHS) officials who have decided to close the Little Bow Continuing Care Centre.

Environment Canada is issuing some watches and warnings for southwest Saskatchewan:

An unfortunate accident at Writing on Stone Provincial Park July 21 has sent one woman via STARS Air Ambulance to Foothills Hospital in Calgary.

Steelhead Salvage & Demolition Inc. pleaded guilty to one count under The Clean Air Act for burning motor vehicle tires and was fined $50,000 in Leader Provincial Court on July 19. The company was also ordered to make an $8,000 donation to SaskTip.

Temporary disruption of services will be implemented for an 8.5 hour timeline this coming weekend.  The disruption will be in effect during Saturday, July 21st from 11 p.m. to Sunday, July 22nd at 7:30 a.m.

Milk River
Alberta Health Services (AHS) is advising the public not to swim or wade in the Milk River at Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park due to elevated levels of fecal coliform currently present in river water.
