After the cancellation of last year's annual beef pen show, the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede is gearing up to host its 20th event Dec. 15-16 with a strong showing for pen show entries and trade show vendors.

After the dry conditions of this summer, many areas that have been too wet to seed in prior years now are dry enough to seed.

Leafy Spurge is an invasive weed that is easy to recognize once you have seen it! It features alternate, long, narrow, waxy leaves that attach directly to the smooth stem of the plant. If a leaf or stem is broken a white sticky sap will ooze out.

MHWSS Adopt a Family Program is need of sponsors

The Medicine Hat Women’s Shelter Society created the Adopt a Family program over a decade ago to assist families impacted by family violence that were struggling at Christmas-time and to take pressure off some of the existing Christmas hamper programs in Medicine Hat. 

The transition process from 12 regional health authorities to a single provincial health authority was completed in less than a year, but the transformation of Saskatchewan’s health system will take much longer.
