Bandits shut out Dragons in home opener 4-0 Sept. 21

Pierce Charleson (Aurora, ON) posted the first home opener shutout in the history of the Centennial Regional Arena, and the first home opener shutout for the Brooks Bandits (2-1) in twelve years, as the Bandits held the visiting Drumheller Dragons (2-2) off the scoresheet in a 4-0 win in front of a crowd of 1,539 on Friday night.

The time had finally arrived on September 21st, 2018 as the Swift Current Broncos and Saskatoon Blades squared off to begin the 2018-19 WHL regular season. For the Broncos, it was their Home Opener and Banner Raising night as presented by Pioneer Coop.

Doors officially open for Lodge in Fort Macleod

It was a happy and probably with a sense of relief the grand opening of Pioneer Seniors Lodge in Fort Macleod took place Sept. 13.

The 2017 Kenow wildfire and the 2018 Montana fire impacted Waterton Lakes National Park on a number of fronts.

 The Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Lethbridge and District organization not only serves Lethbridge, but also serves rural communities throughout the region.

The Claresholm Museum is set to expand a small, currently existing exhibit of Louise McKinney at the Claresholm Museum and that expansion will include a bust of McKinney herself. Louise McKinney was the first woman elected to a legislature in the British Empire, being elected to the Alberta legislative assembly in 1917.

Sept. 30 is a dark day in First Nations history, but Orange Shirt Day will bring some light to that darkness.
