In 2004, after first being elected to the Alberta Legislature, I was shocked to learn that agriculture was the only industry exempt from occupational health and safety laws, mandatory workers compensation, and child labour standards.

Burstall ready for annual fall fair activities

This weekend, a group of Burstall and area citizens plan on showing that country matters as the Burstall and District 31st Annual Old-Fashioned Fall Fair goes Sept. 8-9 in different locations across Burstall including the community hall.

CFB Suffield has issued a reminder that its range is used for live fire weapons training, and it is not only illegal to trespass but also unsafe.
Live fire training takes place from Aug. 20 to Sept. 2.
