Families will be able to continue to enjoy a delightful holiday tradition this year with the Lyric Theatre’s Christmas Matinée, which will be offered on Dec. 15 and 16, at 1:30pm. In addition to making a craft and having a visit with Santa, kids will also have the chance to watch A Muppet Family Christmas.

Local musicians release albums Nov. 29

Local musicians Dave Cyca and Mark Penner will be hosting a joint CD release concert on Nov. 29 at the Lyric Theatre in Swift Current. The two have been hard at work both as solo artists and as a duo, and even did instrumentation and backup vocals on each others' recordings.

Gimme Mo' Betties another successful night

Swift Current's Redneck Betties hosted their annual Gimme Mo' Betties calendar release party and Movember fundraiser over the weekend. With almost 150 people out for the event, the group was pleased to be able to sell some calendars and also raise some money to support men's health.

Hawksley Workman hits Lyric stage Nov 1

Although his first venture into music was inspired by a simple desire to prove himself to a girl, singer / songwriter Hawksley Workman has managed to become a prolific multi-instrumentalist, with thirteen albums under his belt. Worksman will be bringing his blend of cabaret pop and glam rock to the Lyric Theatre on Nov. 1, as part of the Blenders special concert series.
