A full season of dirt track racing in Swift Current got under way on Mother's Day.

The R.M. of Swift Current Fire Department is warning area residents to be extra careful of the dry conditions at the moment.

There were many highlights during the second joint annual ceremonial review of the three Swift Current cadet corps, which took place on May 4 at the  Lt. Colonel Clifton Recreation Centre.

The fundraising efforts of the Dr. Noble Irwin Regional Healthcare Foundation during 2012 generated over $2 million that will be used to support healthcare provision in southwest Saskatchewan.

A number of rural communities in southwest Saskatchewan are pooling their financial resources to support the construction of a new $425,000 medical clinic in the town of Cabri.

The official opening of the new simulation training centre at Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current took place on April 19. The centre has three medical mannequins - an adult, child and baby - that will be used to enhance the training of medical staff. The mannequins are controlled from a control room to exhibit life-like medical conditions that must be treated by medical staff.

Lower water level in Cypress Lake East Dam

The water level in the Cypress Lake East Dam is currently kept below the full supply level until engineers have completed a survey of the dam’s foundation and embankment.

Opposition Whip Doyle Vermette accused the Saskatchewan Party government of taking rural residents for granted and not listening to their concerns over proposed cuts to Saskatchewan Transportation Company (STC) bus routes.
