Breaking Boards, Breaking Chains fundraiser in Swift Current, April 18, 2015

Written by

Swift Current Christian Tae Kwon Do hosted a Breaking Boards, Breaking Chains fundraiser for International Justice Mission (IJM) in the gymnasium of the Church of the Open Bible in Swift Current, April 18. The event was attended by around 60 members of both the Swift Current and Regina branches of the club. Senior Head Instructor Gary Voysey briefly addressed the group at the start of proceedings. They used various Tae Kwon Do techniques to break about 300 boards. The students have been gathering pledges for the event during the past month and they raised over $7,300 for IJM, a global organization with projects in countries around the world to end sex trafficking, forced labour and slavery. The club held a similar event last year that raised over $4,500 for IJM.
