Marco Calliari performs at the Lyric Theatre, April 11, 2015

Written by

Quebec musician Marco Calliari brought an international flavour to the Lyric Theatre stage in Swift Current on April 11 with his performance of Italian songs. He is pictured with Amélie Poirier-Aubry on accordion and Julie Houle on tuba. Swift Current was one of six stops on his Western Canada tour that started April 8 in Jasper, Alberta, and concluded on April 13 in Saskatoon. He performed at the Lyric Theatre as part of the current Blenders concert series. His music reflects his Italian roots but he also combines different cultures when he sings Quebec songs in Italian. The final performer in the 2014-15 Blenders concert series will be Australian roots musician Jordie Lane on May 2 and a Blenders special concert takes place on May 15 with Toronto singer-songwriter Peter Katz.
