Written by

Award-winning blues piano player David Vest and his band performed on the opening night of the Blenders StirCrazy Blues Festival at the Lyric Theatre in Swift Current, Feb. 26. His latest album Roadhouse Revelation was released in 2014 to critical acclaim. Vest was already playing paid gigs when he was 14 years old and at the age of 19 he opened for Roy Orbison on a New Year’s Day concert in 1962. The other talented performers at this year’s StirCrazy Blues Festival were the Nikki Hill Band on Feb. 27 and the JW Jones Band on Feb. 28. The next performance in the popular Blenders concert series at the Lyric Theatre will be on March 28 with the four-piece acoustic ensemble The Dead South from Regina in association with Swift Current songwriter and musician Colter Wall.
