Written by

A large crowd welcomed the CP Holiday Train to Swift Current on Dec. 6. The Salvation Army provided over 400 cups of hot chocolate to people, who came out in the mild weather to meet Santa and listen to the music of the Canadian power pop rock band Odds and Montreal based singer/songwriter Roxanne Potvin. CP Trainmaster Rob McNulty presented a cheque of $5,500 to the Salvation Army's Capt. Michael Ramsay for the local foodbank. People also had an opportunity during the event to make donations to the food bank and to the Salvation Army's Christmas campaign in Swift Current, which has a fundraising goal of $175,000.
