Lac Pelletier Regional Park 50th anniversary celebrations, July 19, 2014

Written by

People enjoyed a beautiful day at the lake to celebrate the 50th anniversary of  Lac Pelletier Regional Park, July 19. A variety of events and activities took place during the day, starting with a pancake breakfast attended by around 300 people. A formal celebration with dignitary speeches and the cutting of the birthday cake took place at 2 p.m. at the corral. A supper buffet was served to 265 people and the evening dance featured the popular band Bakersfield. This year is also the 25th anniversary of the hall building in the park and the hall board's annual craft and bake sale took place on the same day. This sale is the hall board's main fundraiser for the year and the money is used for the building's maintenance and improvements. This fall work will start on upgrades to the washrooms and changes to make the hall more wheelchair accessible.
