Swift Current Christian Tae Kwon Do break-a-thon, April 12, 2014

Written by

Over 25 club members participated in the Swift Current Christian Tae Kwon Do club's “Breaking Boards, Breaking Chains” break-a-thon fundraising event on April 12 to raise money for the work done by the International Justice Mission (IJM) to end modern-day slavery. Club members collected pledges in the run-up to the event and each participant used martial arts techniques to break three boards. The club exceeded their fundraising goal of $2,000 by raising a total of $4,341. There are 29.8 million slaves in the world and IJM investigates, rescues and rehabilitates these victims of oppression.
