Written by

The 14th annual SaskPower Windscape Kite Festival took place in Swift Current, June 23-24. The event has become a major attraction in the city that draws visitors from across Saskatchewan and other provinces as well as other countries. It is the only kite festival in the province and one of only a handful of kite flying events in Canada. Windscape 2018 was attended by an estimated 8,500 people and the event's success was made possible with the help of over 200 volunteers. Festival visitors were able to watch choreographed kite flying by celebrity flyers or they could learn how to fly a kite in the public area, while many other activities provided entertainment for the entire family.
