Write Out Loud at the Lyric Theatre, Nov. 8, 2017

Written by

Writer and retired Saskatoon City police officer Ernie Louttit was the featured author at Write Out Loud, Nov. 8.  He is the author of two books – Indian Ernie: Perspectives on policing and leadership as well as More Indian Ernie: Insights from the streets. He spoke about his career and his approach to policing. He considers empathy and a willingness to listen to people to be important aspects of a successful approach to policing. The event started with musical entertainment by three well-known southwest Saskatchewan musicians – Glenna Switzer (guitar and keyboard), Mark Penner (guitar), and Paula McGuigan (upright bass). The Write Out Loud series, which takes place at the Lyric Theatre in Swift Current, presents readings by Canadian authors to local literary fans. The next event on Feb. 21 will be a local writer's night, when a number of local authors will share their writings with the audience.
