Market Square hosts 6th annual Cruisin' the Market Show and Shine in Swift Current, Sept. 16, 2017

There was a good turnout of vehicles at the 6th annual Cruisin' the Market Show and Shine in Swift Current on Sept. 16, despite the inclement weather. There were 61 entries for the event at Market Square, which included a wide variety of cars, trucks and motorcycles from different eras. The category winners were:

Best pre-1976 Ford – Rick McAlpine, 1958 Ford Edsel; Best pre-1976 GM – Jerry Biese, 1969 Camaro Indy Pacecar; Best pre-1976 Mopar – Ronald Bender, 1967 Dodge Coronet 500; Best post-1976 Ford – Gary Arnelien, 2012 Ford Mustang; Best post-1976 GM – Bob Grapko, 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Dale Jr Edition; Best post-1976 Mopar – Mike Smart, 2009 Dodge Challenger; Best truck – Janet Schultz, 1933 Ford Express; Best foreign – Ralph Schmiess, 2001 BMW Z3; Special interest – Don McKay, 1976 Ford F-100; Best foreign motorcycle – Andy Boruch, 2009 Yamaha 113 Raider; Best North American motorcycle – Mike Carlin, 1972 custom 1,340cc chopper; Best vintage motorcycle – Brad Bakken, 1941 Indian Scout 45; Special mention – Richard Moffit, 1940 Dodge half ton rat rod; Participants choice – Rick McAlpine, 1958 Ford Edsel; People's choice – Mike Reimer, 1934 Ford Model A; Longest distance – Jesse and Joanne Adrienne from Blythe, California.
