Students from the Eastend School WE Day group spoke about their very successful Raising Hope gala during a presentation at a regular meeting of the Chinook School Division board, Feb. 13. The students were inspired to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House in Saskatoon after a visit to the facility in March 2016. Their goal was to raise $30,000 for the Ronald McDonald House adopt-a-room program and the students organized the Raising Hope gala in Eastend, Jan. 27. The event was well supported by the community of Eastend as well as residents from across southwest Saskatchewan. The gala was attended by over 350 people and raised a total of $65,431.73.
