Concert in the Sky for Southwest Youth Emergency Shelter, Oct. 28, 2016

Written by

The 2nd annual Concert in the Sky to raise funds for the Southwest Youth Emergency Shelter (YES) took place at the Living Sky Casino, Oct. 28. The event, which was attended by about 300 people, featured musical entertainment by students from Maverick School and local singer/songwriter Colter Wall, who has been building a successful musical career since releasing his debut album to critical acclaim in 2015. The construction of Dorie's House, an emergency shelter in Swift Current that will provide accommodation to homeless youth from across southwest Saskatchewan, is almost complete and a community open house of the new facility will take place from Nov. 7-9 with daily tours from noon to 8 p.m. Workplaces that want to attend as a large group can book a tour time with Southwest YES.
