5th Annual Cruisin' Show and Shine at Market Square in downtown Swift Current, Sept. 17, 2016

A wide variety of cars, trucks and motorcycles from different eras were on display during the 5th annual Cruisin' Show and Shine at Market Square in downtown Swift Current, Sept. 17. A total of 85 entries were received, which was the the largest number ever for this event. Participants stood a chance to win prizes in various categories and people had an opportunity to vote for their favourite vehicles. The category winners were: Best pre-1976 Ford – Terry Cooke, 1969 Ford Fairlane; Best pre-1976 GM – Darryl and Cathy Bakken, 1967 Chev Chevelle SS; Best pre-1976 Mopar – Steve Klein, 1971 Plymouth Barracuda; Best post-1976 Ford – Andy Beattie, 2003 Ford/Harley truck; Best post-1976 GM – Enid Loewen, 1976 Pontiac Trans Am; Best post-1976 Mopar – Barrie Rink, 2010 Dodge Challenger; Best truck – Brian Lee, 1955 Ford F-100; Best foreign – Matthew Byer, 1992 Mazda RX-7; Special interest – Mike Reimer, 1923 Model T 231 Alterd; Best foreign motorcycle – Kent Joorisity, 2016 KTM Adventure; Best North American motorcycle – June Roy, 2006 Harley-Davidson V-Rod; Best vintage motorcycle – Buck Wagner, 1943 Harley-Davidson; Participants choice – Chris Rink, 1955 Bel Air and Ronald Thiessen, 1956 Chev half-ton; People's choice – Jessy-Lee Lacher, 1958 Ford Thunderbird; Largest distance – Barrie Rink, Regina, 2010 Dodge Challenger. Special mention to: Dade Schultz (youth motorcycle 1995 Pocket Rocket); Hayley Vipond (2002 Junior Dragster); Roland Loewen (post- 2000 vehicle 2016 Corvette Z07), Elmer Carleton (survivor vehicle 1955 Ford Crown Victoria).
