Swift Current Broncos pre-season game vs Lethbridge Hurricanes, Sept. 10, 2016

The Swift Current Broncos made their first appearance on home ice during the pre-season with a game against the Lethbridge Hurricanes, Sept. 10. The Broncos won three of their five previous games on the road and one of the game losses came after a shootout. The Swift Current team added another win to their pre-season record at the Credit Union iPlex with a final score of 5-2 against the Hurricanes. Broncos goalkeeper Taz Burman turned away 20 shots and Kaden Elder scored twice for the home team. Finnish import Aleksi Heponiemi was responsible for assists on two Broncos goals to increase his points total to 12 (five goals, seven assists), which makes him the overall points leader among skaters for the pre-season. The Broncos will also play their next pre-season game at home against the Prince Albert Raiders on Sept. 16. The Broncos will play their final pre-season game in Moose Jaw on Sept. 17 before they start their regular season against the Saskatoon Blades in Swift Current on Sept. 23.
