Swift Current Broncos training camp, Aug. 24-28, 2016

Written by

The Swift Current Broncos started preparation for the 2016-17 season with a training camp at the Credit Union iPlex, Aug. 24-28. Fitness testing took place on the first day of the camp and for the next three days the 67 players participated in dry-land training, on-ice sessions, scrimmages and goalie sessions. The camp concluded on Aug. 28 with an intra-squad game between Team White and Team Blue. The camp provided a first opportunity for new Broncos Head Coach Manny Viveiros to evaluate players for the upcoming season. The team will play two pre-season games on home ice on Sept. 10 and 16 against the Lethbridge Hurricanes and Prince Albert Raiders respectively. The Broncos will start the regular season on home ice against the Saskatoon Blades on Sept. 23.
