The Long Day's Night Music Festival took place from June 19 to 22 in Swift Current in conjunction with the Windscape Kite Festival. The line-up included other award winning performers such as Regina indie pop band Library Voices, Calgary rock band The Dudes, and the JUNO award winner Corb Lund and his touring band, the Hurtin' Albertans. Swift Current Skate Camp, June 11, 2014

City of Swift Current Community Services hosted a skate camp for youths between the ages of five and 17 years at the Kiwanis Sk8 Park on June 11. There was a good turnout at the event with 29 registered participants. They were able to learn new tricks and skills from local skate instructors and there was also a barbeque.


The Swift Current Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 56 held a wreath laying ceremony in Memorial Park on June 8 to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landing of Allied troops on the French coast on June 6, 1944. Salvation Army Captain Michael Ramsay conducted the scripture reading and meditation. Swift Current Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 56 President Vel Burns laid a wreath at the cenotaph.
