Sask.’s deputy premier shows infallibility

On May 13, Saskatchewan Government Insurance announced it was launching a “new, emotionally-charged multi-media advertising campaign to raise awareness about impaired driving. The campaign shows the void, literally, that is left behind when a friend or loved one is killed by an impaired driver. The absence of that person leaves a hole in the lives of those left behind, demonstrating the campaign slogan that “impaired driving impacts lives, families — everything.”

Cypress Hills Destination Area (CHDA) is an award-winning organization which comes up with new, innovative ways to promote tourism in the areas surrounding the Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park and a healthy-sized region surrounding it.
On Aug. 21, they have a new idea that is just delicious.

Despite a tough economy, the Vauxhall and District Growing Project for the Canadian Foodgrains Bank proved it had community support as more than 40 volunteers hosted an even more successful Barbecue and Pig Roast Fundraiser than they did last year.

About 20 km directly west of Foremost in the County of 40 Mile is the tiny hamlet of Skiff which is home to some hard-working farmers and ranchers. It is also home to rodeo fans who undoubtedly were glued to their TVs watching one of their own do well at the Greatest Show of them all — the Calgary Stampede.

There were probably a lot of tired people July 16 in the hamlet of Scandia, about 35 km south of Brooks.

The July 22-23 Quonset Days are nothing short of amazing for all of those involved.

Mother Nature always wins: like it or not
