Come out and support great Saskatchewan talent for only $30 at the Lyric March 28.

The Dead South and Colter Wall will be showcased in a double header you won’t want to miss.
First to take the stage is Colter Wall, a young Saskatchewan born songwriter and performing musician. Steeped in Old Timey material and traditional Americana, Wall’s sound is comprised of resonate and raw baritone vocals, folk and bluegrass-style guitar and banjo picking, steady kick-drum stomping, and visually provoking, story telling lyrics. Wall draws influence from legends of the past, such as Hank Williams, Robert Johnson, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, and Townes Van Zandt, as well as many more modern Americana pioneers including Shovels and Rope, Jack White, Ray Lamontagne, and Shakey Graves.
In addition to racking up memorable live shows across the province, Wall is planning on releasing his first EP, entitled Imaginary Appalachia, in the summer of 2015 and has been busy recording at Regina’s own Studio One with producer Jason Plumb. Wall’s first Canada-wide summer tour will begin June of this year. From dive bars to fundraiser galas, Colter Wall has a history of leaving audiences in shock at the maturity of his voice as well as his songwriting.
Following Colter Wall will be The Dead South, another young band based out of Regina, known for their four-piece acoustic ensemble. This band has been successful in wonderfully blending elements of folk, bluegrass, classical, and rock to result in a unique, modern, and authentic blend of boot-stompin’ acoustic music. You may have seen The Death South at one of the many festivals they performed at last summer, some of which are, the Regina Folk Festival, Juno Fest, and the Grey Cup Festival. Branching further, outside of Canada, the band has been seen touring overseas under the production of German record label, Devil Duck Records.
Since their inception, The Dead South has continually pushed the energy of their live shows. Their ability to take ordinary acoustic instruments and create such a unique sound is outstanding. Visit the website at: www.thedeadsouth.com to learn more about this talented young group.
This evening of live music would not be possible without the continued support and generosity of the sponsor, Bridal Builders Inc.
