Greystone Singers Feb. 28 concert will be a treat for music lovers in Swift Current

Those who appreciate great choral will have a wonderful opportunity to listen to some accomplished singers from Saskatoon.


The University of Saskatchewan Greystone singers will present a concert in Swift Current Feb. 28 at 2 p.m. at the First United Church (223 3rd Ave. N).
Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for seniors and students.
Proceeds from this concert will go to the First United Church and Kincaid Central School to support their Free the Children Global Initiative.
The program consists of a wide variety of choral repertoire from traditional to classic as well as sacred and secular selections. There are a variety of folk and spiritual songs in a variety of languages and styles.
Featured are Benjamin Britten’s Choral Dances from Gloriana, Heinrich Schultz’s Singet dem Herrn (ps. 98) with double chorus, Ola Gjeilo’s Contrition and Saskatchewan composer Paul Suchan’s Wake the Grain.
In Swift Current, tickets can be purchased at the First United Church, Pharmasave, Trends Hair and Nail Studio in the Swift Current Mall, or Linn’s Hair Shop in the Wheatland Mall. In Kincaid, they can be purchased at the Kincaid Central School.
