Saskatoon author and musician Brenda Baker will be the final author to read for the 2013/14 Write Out Loud season at the Lyric on May 21.

She will be accompanied by well-known local musician Glenna Switzer.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the event will begin at 7 p.m. Admission is $5.
Writer and performer Brenda Baker has been part of Saskatchewan’s music and literary scene for more than three decades. She is best known, however, as a singer for young audiences.
In 2005, Brenda founded Kids of Note, a choir for children, with and without disabilities, who love to sing. In 2007, she launched Nexstage Live Music Performance Coaching.
Baker will read from her recently-published young adult novel, Camp Outlook, about which Alice Kuipers, author of Life on the Refrigerator Door, has written: “What an exceptional voice. From the opening pages, you’ll fall in love with Shan, the wonderful wise, brave protagonist of this wonderful, wise, brave novel.”
It is the story of Shannon, a reluctant camp attendee, who learns to redefine “normal” and its importance in her life during one unforgettable summer.
This is the final Write Out Loud event of the season.  Throughout this season, attendees’ names have been added to the draw for two e-readers, and the draw will be made at this event.
In addition, there will be a sneak peek of the 2014-15 line up of writers.
