Parker Millsap will play at a house concert at Shann and Ray’s Gowan’s Farm (Gowan’s Grove) July 20.

Best known for his multi-instrumental songs and song-writing, this will be an amazing summer evening filled with friends in the wide open space of southwest Sask.
Millsap is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who plays a blend of blues, country, alt-country/Americana, and folk music.
Named one of Americana Music Association’s 2014 Emerging Artists of the Year after the release of his self-titled album, he garnered attention with his popular song Truck Stop Gospel, which has been featured on multiple national radio stations.
At only 24 years of age, Oklahoma native Millsap is quickly making a name for himself with his captivating live performances, soulful sound, and character-driven narratives. He recently wrapped up a banner year, which included his network television debut on CONAN, an invitation to play with Elton John at the Apple Music Festival, an Austin City Limits taping and an Americana Music Association nomination for Album of the Year, as well as winning the International Folk Music Awards’ Artist Of the Year.
His most recent release, The Very Last Day, has received praise from The New York Times, The Boston Globe, LA Times, Austin Chronicle and Rolling Stone.
Millsap grew up in Purcell, OK (pop. 5,952) where he attended a Pentecostal church with his family three times a week for most of his youth.
Though he doesn’t consider himself very religious these days, the experiences engraved upon him inform his songwriting. Blending that fire and brimstone preaching with rock, country, blues and Waits-ian imagery, he has created a sound uniquely his own.
Tickets for this concert are $30, paid to Shann Gowan. For more information, you can reach her at 306-778-2686 or email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
