The Lyric Theatre will host Sing-a-long-a Grease, when the unique, interactive show rolls into town on Saturday, Nov. 19.

You’d better shape up to sing along to the great movie musical, complete with on-screen lyrics and the chance to become a T-Bird or Pink Lady for the night. Now, at last, Summer Lovin’, Grease Lightning and the chance to sport a pink wig or greased quiff while belting out You’re The One That I Want, are coming to a theater near you.

Sing-a-long-a Greasers will be decked out in their own versions of fifties high school garb worn at Rydell High, including poodle skirts and saddle shoes, black leather biker and powder-pink bomber jackets, chiffon scarves and skinny ties.  Costumes are most definitely encouraged, but singing is highly approved!

Sing-a-long-a host, Jacqueline Hudec,  will warm up the audience, show you how to “hand-jive” and explain the contents of their free magic moments fun packs.

“After last year’s successful Sing-a-long-a Sound of Music, we had a lot of people asking us to put on Grease. People loved the opportunity to be part of this special karaoke evening,” explained committee member, Leta Heuer.

“We have really tried to get everyone into the time frame of the movie. Our opening act, Dustin Olmsted, will be playing songs from the 50’s as people enter the theatre.  During intermission, everyone will be treated to a McDonald’s Happy burger and fries, and a root beer float with O’Rudys Creek House ice cream,” Heuer explained. “People will get a lot of value for their $25 admission.”

“Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Redhead Equipment, Parkside Memorial, McElheran Woodworks Manufacturing and Unforgettable, we were able to keep our ticket prices very affordable,” commented Heuer, “the copyright these productions  is very expensive. We look forward to a happy time!”

Doors open at 7 and the show starts at 8. Tickets are available at Pharmasave for $25.
