The Northern Lights Bluegrass and Old Tyme Music Society is pleased to announce the second leg of the Youth Bluegrass Engagement Tour.

Having finished up the first half of this tour in May in Northern Saskatchewan, they are excited to be on the move and bring their show to the Southwest area for June 2-4.
The goal of this project is to engage youth in smaller communities in bluegrass and old time music, and to provide opportunities for them to enjoy, participate and learn about this genre. Funding for this project has been made possible through the Saskatchewan Arts Board and the Culture on the Go program, and we proudly acknowledge their assistance.
The musical group chosen to represent the bluegrass and old-tyme genre is the amazing youth bluegrass band, In With The Old. They will be working with five communities in Saskatchewan; Swift Current, Gull Lake, Wymark, Val Marie and Nipawin. The group will be conducting workshops in both Wymark and Gull Lake School, as well as Central School in Swift Current.
Also, they will be putting on evening concerts in Swift Current, Val Marie and Nipawin. Having always wanted see the southwest corner of the province, they are ecstatic to be playing in the area.
In With The Old is a young trio, whose skilled performances belie their age. Multi-instrumentalists Ellen Froese-Kooijenga, Kasia Thorlakson and Jaxon Lalonde are highly influenced by the great traditional bluegrass and old-time artists like Bill Monroe, the Carter Family, and the Stanley Brothers. Their performances showcase a very full sound including fiery-hot banjo and mandolin licks, thoughtful songwriting, and beautiful 3-part harmonies. Be sure to check out In With The Old in concert on these following upcoming dates.
