After meeting frequently at the same parties, festivals, and live shows, the group decided to form their own band, and began sharing their love of traditional music with audiences across the country. Now, Genticorum has recorded four albums and have played close to 900 concerts over the past decade.

Written by

Although his first venture into music was inspired by a simple desire to prove himself to a girl, singer / songwriter Hawksley Workman has managed to become a prolific multi-instrumentalist, with thirteen albums under his belt. Worksman will be bringing his blend of cabaret pop and glam rock to the Lyric Theatre on Nov. 1, as part of the Blenders special concert series.

To celebrate the release of her first full-length album Mirador, fransaskoise artist Alexis Normand is sharing her blend of folk and jazz music with audiences across Saskatchewan. The album is unique in that it was created with visual artist Zoé Fortier, and inspired by the prairies.

Growing up in Cape Breton, professional fiddler Ashley MacIsaac started thinking about his career path at a very young age. When he got his first cheque at the age of eleven for playing violin, music was the only thing he wanted to pursue.

The Lyric Theatre will host Rocktoberfest on Sept. 30, during Swift Current’s great lineup of Culture Days events throughout the entire weekend. The event is a fantastic opportunity to see exciting local performers of all ages showcasing their talents on the stage.

As a result of the overwhelming response to the season ticket sales campaign, this season’s Stars for Saskatchewan series is nearly sold out.
