For those music fans in Medicine Hat and Swift Current on July 24, don’t let Regina’s Tyler Gilbert and his easy-going demeanour fool you — the singer and talented folk musician is a hard worker.

This year's 75th Annual Frontier Days wrapped up following an impressive performance by Canadian rockers The Trews, on June 30. The band is currently wrapping up their tour, with four more performances before heading back to Toronto to work on their upcoming record.

When they first met in 2009 and started writing songs together in the back of a truck, Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard never imagined that their musical partnership would land them a #1 single alongside country greats like Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney. Florida Georgia Line will be bringing their unique country sound to the Swift Current stage as part of the Frontier Days 75th Anniversary entertainment lineup.

In addition to checking out some great grandstand performers at this year's 75th Anniversary Frontier Days, local musicians will be showcasing their talents on the Hanson Park stage from 2:30-5:00pm on both Saturday and Sunday. For the third year in a row, the Southwest Chapter of the Saskatchewan Country Music Association will be presenting a number of local performers working with an all-local house band to bring great music to the fairgrounds.

Students involved with the jazz music program at Swift Current Comprehensive High School recently showcased their talents to the rest of the community with a concert held at the Lyric Theatre on June 12. The evening featured performances by 8 o'clock Jazz, 9 o'clock Jazz, and Vocal Jazz, as well as another vocal combo and two instrumental combos who provided some background music before the show.
