The two-year pilot of the artsVest Saskatchewan program is winding down, and local cultural organizers are hoping that the program will continue into the future. artsVest Saskatchewan is a sponsorship training and matching incentive program, designed to assist Saskatchewan’s small and medium-sized arts organizations in the development of new and mutually beneficial partnerships with local businesses.

Swift Current's Lyric Theatre is set to host their 4th Annual High Tea at the Lyric, on May 11. The event will feature music, monologues, and martinis – all of the elegance of a high tea, but with a bit of a fun twist.

Fourth Man in the Fire rocks at JUNOfest

Local Grade 12 students Kennedy Thompson, Sean Fehr, and Luc Perrault had the unique opportunity to play at the University of Regina last week, as part of the JUNOfest excitement surrounding the awards show which aired on April 21 from Regina. Fourth Man in the Fire was selected as one of the top six bands to participate in the Juno showcase on April 17, through a SaskMusic contest and live Battle of the Bands.

With over 500 participants in 2013, the Swift Current & District Music Festival is still going strong into their 83rd year. The event provides a valuable opportunity for music students to practice performing for an audience, and gives them a tangible goal to strive for throughout the year.
