To start off the Blenders Music ‘Special Concerts’ is Hawksley Workman, and his full band, performing his newest rock album.

He will bring along with him, the talented Fiona Bevan as an opening act.
This unreal, talent-filled evening will be Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Lyric Theatre.
Bevan is a multi-platinum selling English singer-songwriter from Hackney, London.  She has written with Ed Sheeran, and their song Little Things became a number-one single for English-Irish boy band, One Direction.
She has also written with Australian band 5 Seconds Of Summer for their debut album. Not to mention she has toured as support to Nick Mulvey, Ryan Keen, Ed Sheeran, Gwenyth Herbert and Bill Bailey.
Bevan describes her debut album, Talk To Strangers, as a ‘pop in disguise,’ which makes perfect sense when one hears her bewitching music that has roots that run deep.
Her songs have hooks, harmonies and melodies that linger from first listen, but they are defiantly timeless and are purposefully hard to pin-down.
Bevan’s storytelling lyrics are remarkable, and describe the meaning that is centered in her songs.
Following Bevan’s performance, is Hawksley Workman, a high-energy artist who is not afraid to be a little strange.
This hyper-prolific, perpetually-restless creative force continues to push the boundaries of experience and the heights of his successes, well outside the comfort zone.
From a swirling nuclear fusion of cabaret theatricality, glam rock and wantonly pop musical elements comes this rebelliously bold and exuberant unclassified collection of songs in Workman’s album, Old Cheetah.
His process is as close to spontaneous creative combustion as you can get without a permit
Workman’s touring career has seen him play nearly a thousand shows in more than 15 countries.
He’s headlined in prestigious venues such as Massey Hall in Toronto and The Olympia in Paris, as well as opened for musical heroes such as, Morrissey David Bowie, and The Cure.
As an actor Workman has appeared in many small films, and has also written some of the music for them.
Tickets for this Special Concert, on Oct. 17 at the Lyric Theatre will be $40 and can be purchased at Pharmasave.  Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. and the opening act will take the stage at 8:30 p.m.
