Missoula in Swift Current to help students perform Hansel and Gretel

Missoula Children’s Theatre will once again return to Swift Current for a production of Hansel and Gretel featuring local children.

The production is part of Missoula Children’s Theatre’s unique international touring project.  Auditions will be held on Oct. 20 at Ashley Park School from 3:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Approximately 60 roles are available for local students. 
Those auditioning should arrive at 3:45 p.m. and plan to stay for the full two hours. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the auditions. 
Among the roles to be cast are those intrepid adventurers Hansel and Gretel, their Granny, the Wildwood Rascals and a flock of cuddly Wallybirds. 
Students in Kindergarten to Grade 8 are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary.
Assistant directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities.
Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup. The MCT Tour actor/directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week from 3:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. each day. 
Hansel and Gretel will be presented on Oct. 25, at 3 p.m. at the Sky Centre. 
Missoula Children’s Theatre residency in Swift Current is presented locally by Koncerts4 Kids with support from numerous local businesses and service groups.
