Go to Paris on a dime at the Lyric Theatre.

Well, on $49 anyway, and you get to skip the Trans-Atlantic airplane ride.
On February 14th the Lyric Theatre will transform itself into a Parisian street with outdoor café seating and charming awnings. The French inspired menu will be sure to impress anyone’s Valentine. Live local entertainment will include The Central Avenue Jazz Sextet and classical ballet performances by Sierra and Sage Francis of the Backstage Dance Company.
This will be the 14th Showcasehosted at the Lyric Theatre. Showcases began in 2009. They were intended to “showcase” the culinary abilities of local chefs alongside the talented local performers on the stage.
The amazing variety of delicious food that has been served at the Lyric over the past five years has been incredible: Mexican, Mediterranean, Medieval, a “Flavours of the Orient”, the “100 Mile Diet”, and wine pairings to name a few.
The food is just the beginning...Lyric staff and volunteers pull out all the stops to decorate the black box theatreappropriately for the event.
And the entertainment on the stage always matches the food and the decor.
Be sure to attend the upcoming gourmet Parisian meal, by talented local chef Doug Lam, who has created many of the innovative Showcase menus.  Make sure that you check the Lyric website often to ensure that you don’t miss your favourite cuisine, as the Lyric continues to make food art at the Lyric Showcases.
Tickets to the Valentine’s Day Showcase are $49 each and a limited number are available. Sponsored by MNP. Call 773-6292 for tickets and table reservations, or visit www.lyrictheatre.cafor more information.
Since 2009, the Lyric has hosted wine tastings, gourmet Mexican and Asian food, a 1950s sock hop, and a Medieval Feast.
