Lyric Christmas from 2011. Lyric Christmas from 2011.

For decades, the children of Swift Current enjoyed a special Christmas tradition at the Lyric Theatre.

Children were treated to a Christmas matinee, a bag of treats, and even sometimes a visit from Santa Claus. The Southwest Cultural Development Group Inc. revived the tradition of a children’s Christmas matinee five years ago, and this year promises to be the best yet.
For $5 and a donation to the Salvation Army food drive, children are treated to an afternoon of entertainment, including a short Disney Christmas film, a live theatrical performance, carol-singing, a craft, a story, and a special visit from Santa Claus himself.
The event takes place at 2 p.m. on Sat. Dec. 14-15 at the Lyric Theatre. Tickets are available at Pharmasave. For more information, call the Lyric at 306-773-6292 or visit the website, www.lyrictheatre.ca. Start a new Christmas tradition with your family, and enjoy an afternoon of interactive, old-fashioned Christmas cheer.
Thank you to the following sponsors: presenting sponsors Home Hardware, Kal Tire and Regier Honda; craft sponsor Kiwanis Club of Swift Current; and gift sponsor Sputtergotch Toys.
