Local dancers had the unique opportunity to be a part of a professional ballet production over the weekend, when the Swift Current Allied Arts Council's Stars for Saskatchewan series presented Ballet Jörgen's Swan Lake. For Cheyenne Schulze and Jayla Walker, having the chance to put their combined 28 years of ballet practice to use was priceless.

Stars for Saskatchewan series continues to impress

With a number of encore performances scheduled in this year's Stars for Saskatchewan series, the Swift Current Allied Arts Council is enjoying the success of the series' 44th year, and already looking forward to their upcoming season.


Sam Shepard’s True West is a theatrical drama which generally attracts huge crowds wherever it is produced.

As a result of the response to the season ticket sales campaign, this season’s Stars for Saskatchewan series is nearly sold out.

On Feb. 14, from 7-8:30 p.m., Swift Current will join with people around the world for One Billion Rising, the largest day of action in the history of V-Day, the global activist movement to end violence against women and girls.
