Live Stage

The Lyric Theatre is offering a great excuse to pull out the vintage 1950s gear with their 50s Showcase event, coming up on April 19 and 20. This event, sponsored by MNP, will feature gourmet burgers, live entertainment, dance lessons, trivia games, and costume prizes.

Following the success of last year's Zombageddon, local filmmakers Devon Oman and Reuben Parker are already hard at work for their next project – Swift Nightmares. Audiences still have one more weekend to catch Swift Current Little Theatre’s spring production of Norm Foster’s Old Love, after the group’s successful opening last weekend. Pub Nights will be held at Great Plains College on March 22 & 23.

They rehearsed their lines and memorized backstage directions, but students learned much more in putting on Cardston Junior High School’s annual dramatic production.

Local dancers had the unique opportunity to be a part of a professional ballet production over the weekend, when the Swift Current Allied Arts Council's Stars for Saskatchewan series presented Ballet Jörgen's Swan Lake. For Cheyenne Schulze and Jayla Walker, having the chance to put their combined 28 years of ballet practice to use was priceless.
