Old buildings’ histories can be utilized

When I was sixteen-years old, my Aunt Patricia bought St. Patrick's Church in Herbert for a prairie song. The old building was built in 1912 by Father Cabanel, on the same year when Swift Current's Lyric Theatre opened its doors.

Lisa LeBlanc and Les Deuxluxes will be at the Lyric Theatre September 30.

Brooks hosts Alberta Culture Days

Sage Brush Arts Society has been selected to be a Host Celebration Site for the upcoming Alberta Culture Days, which takes place Sept. 29 to Oct. 1.

Zarqa Nawaz, creator of the hit CBC sitcom, Little Mosque on the Prairie, will be featured at the first Write Out Loud of the 2017-2018 season on Wednesday, Sept. 20.

Oratorio Choir to start up again for the fall

As we moan about how summer has sped by all too fast, we can cheer ourselves up by thinking of good things to come. On Monday, Sept. 11 at 7:30 p.m., Oratorio Choir has its first rehearsal of the season at Zion Mennonite Church. Later in the month we will hold the Annual General Meeting Sept. 25.
