Workshops took place in two southwest Saskatchewan watersheds to inform cattle producers about changing water quality during times of drought and how to deal with degraded water sources that are a result of dry conditions.

A southwest Saskatchewan athlete won two gold medals and a bronze medal at the 2017 North American Indigenous Games (NAIG).

While an incidence of sylvatic plague has been found in the Grasslands National Park, the park remains open to visitors. Parks Canada announced last week that the death of one black-tailed prairie dog at the Broken Hills prairie dog colony in Grasslands National Park was a result of sylvatic plague, which is a naturally occurring disease in wildlife.

Swift Current’s Lyric Theatre won $30,000 in the National Trust for Canada's 2017 This Place Matters national crowdfunding competition.

The Swift Current ACT/UCT Stingrays Summer Swim Club hosted swimmers from across the province at the club's swim meet, July 22. A total of 162 athletes from 14 teams competed at the event.
