A “green paddler” will be at Medicine Hat Public Library Aug. 7 to discuss her journeys in an inflatable kayak.

Paula Johanson has used her inflatable kayak in the Gulf Islands and most recently on the Red Deer River.
A veteran paddler, Johanson will teach people how to reduce their carbon footprint while getting out on the water. The inflatable kayak she used on the Red Deer River will be on display as well.
“People who like kayaking, canoeing, and stand up paddle boarding are people who care about the environment,” says the veteran paddler.
Johanson has authored close to 30 educational books on science, health and literature and is a writer on the blog Kayak Yak. The presentation begins at 7 p.m. on Aug. 7.
