Val Marie

For the month of June, Grasslands Gallery features work by two Southwest artists whose love for the colours and forms of the Grasslands motivates them to create beautiful things.

Grasslands Gallery is located at Centre Street and 1st Avenue East in Val Marie, and is open Tuesday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. Other hours are available by appointment by calling 298-7782 or visitingwww.grasslandsgallery.com.

Colleen Watson works in watercolour and acrylic to express her reverence for the natural world and for the beauty found in everyday things. Her small and beautifully detailed watercolours of vast panoramas are her response to the starkly compelling Grasslands landscape, while her lively and bright acrylic paintings show a close-up view of nature. Colleen lives in the Village of Val Marie.

Swift Current's Louise Perrin dyes and snow-dyes scarves in original, one-of-a-kind, glowing colours and textures. Louise’s  Grasslands Collection, inspired by the colours of the Southwest, was created especially for Grasslands Gallery. Louise Perrin has recently been accepted as a full juried member of the Saskatchewan Craft Council.
