Grasslands Gallery in Val Marie hosts painting workshop

By late March at Grasslands National Park near Val Marie, Saskatchewan, colour is starting to come back to the landscape.


For a group of artists who will gather at Grasslands Gallery for a painting workshop on March 23, all shades of the rainbow will be there through the magic of watercolour.  Shape, volume and light – it's all in the way you use your brush. Beginner and intermediate artists can learn or learn more about painting with watercolour, including the importance of materials, how to mix all the colours that are possible, and applying washes for depth and beauty. A list of suggested materials is available.

Southwest artist Catherine Macaulay has exhibited nationally and internationally, and her meditative, intently focused watercolours are held in major public and private collections. Living on an acreage just outside Val Marie has brought a new dimension of light to her work.
