Famous author series, WRITE OUT LOUD, returns to the Lyric Theatre

For more than 30 years Swift Current has been host to many interesting and accomplished authors.

Write Out Loud continues to be a popular tradition, another valuable thread in Swift Current’s rich cultural fabric.
 The 2018-19 season promises to be varied and entertaining.
The Write Out Loud Committee is pleased to present:
September 19:  Lyndon Penner – horticulturalist; gardening columnist with CBC; author of four prairie gardening books “for the short season yard”
October 17:  Suzanne North – author of the Phoebe Fairfax series of crime fiction; historical fiction novel Flying Time won SK Book of the Year Award 2015
November 21:  Dwayne Brenna – author, actor, playwright; books of humour, poetry, fiction, and plays; novel New Albion won SK Fiction Award 2017
February 13:  Local Writers’ Night –
March 20:  Harold Johnson – Cree writer and lawyer; author of 14 books; Firewater: How Alcohol is Killing My People (And Yours) shortlisted nominee for the Governor-General’s Award for English language non-fiction 2016
April 17:  Marion Mutala – writer, educator; 10 children’s books reflecting her Ukrainian heritage; $1 from each sale of More Babas Please goes to Grandmothers For Grandmothers
May 15:  Hillarie Tasche – Legal aid lawyer, author, and artist; WOL will facilitate her book launch for We are animals – Three dark fables 2017
Please mark your calendars and plan to attend Write Out Loud.
Admission is $8.00, and doors open at the Lyric Theatre on Central Avenue at 6:30. Musical entertainment begins at 7:00 with the featured author to follow.
