The Community ChooseWell Committee in Brooks is partnering with local school boards to promote Winter Walk Day which will be held Feb. 8.

Residents are encouraged to participate by committing to walk for at least 15 minutes outside their home, school, workplace, park or favourite pathway.

School-aged children have been participating in this program for many years and now the Community ChooseWell Committee has been brought on board to encourage the adult population to participate as well. Brooks has a number of maintained pathways that are available for use all winter long along with the indoor walking track at the Centennial Regional Arena.

If weather does not permit outdoor walking, the Centennial Regional Arena will be open, free of charge, for those wishing to walk in a safe, dry, warm environment. The track will be open from 6:30-9 a.m. and noon to 4 p.m.
