The results are in and a panel of four judges, including Fire Chief Denis Pilon, radio host Ryan Switzer, food blogger Sarah Galvin, and Mayor Jerrod Schafer awarded “Best Traditional and Classic Chili” to the Saskatchewan Abilities Council.  “Best New and Different Chili” was awarded to the team from Scotiabank.

During the February school break from Monday, Feb. 20 to Saturday the 25th a Family Fitness Week is planned filled with fun activities for the family in Swift Current.  All of these activities are free and everyone is welcome.

The Swift Current Royal Canadian Legion Branch 56 recognized the contribution of five businesses towards the success of the 2011 poppy campaign by presenting them with certificates of appreciation prior to the start of the regular Tuesday dinner at the Legion Hall on Feb. 7.

Country music fans had a unique opportunity to enjoy performances from two of Saskatchewan’s rising stars at a fundraiser for the Swift Current Community Youth Initiative at Sky Centre on Jan. 28. The concert featured Codie Prevost and Katie Love Hess, who impressed the audience with a high-energy, enthusiastic show.
