The Swift Current Allied Arts Council is pleased that the 2012-2013 Stars for Saskatchewan series opener will be Ian Tyson on Friday, September 28.

In celebration of Herbert’s 100th Anniversary, the Steeplejack Festival has invited Governor General’s Award-winning Saskatchewan author Dianne Warren to do a reading and book-signing on Sunday Aug. 5 at 4 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in Herbert.

For more than 50 years, the Medicine Hat Stampede and Exhibition has celebrated art in various fashions. Beginning with mostly paintings and drawings, the art show has evolved to include sculptures, graphic art, and displays larger than life.

Now that the deadline has passed for film companies to apply for the old tax credit in Saskatchewan, many industry professionals are being forced to leave the province to pursue work elsewhere in Canada.
