South West District is 'Moving Culture Forward'

Local individuals and businesses with an interest in culture had the chance to attend a 'Moving Culture Forward' meeting on May 9, hosted by the South West District for Culture, Recreation & Sport. The event brought out representatives from throughout the area to create a shared understanding of the benefits of culture, assess the local cultural environment, and make an action plan for change.


Art students in the southwest have a unique opportunity to showcase their finished products in a gallery exhibition setting with Art Gallery of Swift Current’s High School Art Show, from May 24 to June 30 at the West Wing Gallery location.

For nearly a decade, Art Gallery of Swift Current has been giving local aspiring artists the unique opportunity to show their works in an exhibition presented at their West Wing Gallery location, from July 5 to September 2.

The two-year pilot of the artsVest Saskatchewan program is winding down, and local cultural organizers are hoping that the program will continue into the future. artsVest Saskatchewan is a sponsorship training and matching incentive program, designed to assist Saskatchewan’s small and medium-sized arts organizations in the development of new and mutually beneficial partnerships with local businesses.


A Nanton-area organic farmer will soon be seen by many who watch a new documentary entitled A Tiny Drop of Change.

Fun Fly event soars April 28 in Swift Current
