 Forty four inches tall and a belly to make Santa envious, a sassy bay mare marches to the beat of a song that plays, "the bane of my existence." I've got two daughters and really, it was only a matter of time before a pony ended up on this place.

Relax & Breathe

I sat down on the deck after a day full of wildness with the feel of newspaper between my fingers, while the sun took it's hiding place. My mom had picked me up a free publication in the city. It was aimed at new mom's, the wild and silly creatures that we are. It was stock full advice like: "hey, don't give your kid red dye" and advertisements begging for your bucks in their pockets.

My Grandpa Bill was one of the most well-read, well-travelled, and intelligent men that I have ever known. He journeyed the world with an international organization, CUSO, throughout the ’70s and ’80s to help local people in second- and third-world countries improve farming practices.

Another great culture days weekend in Swift Current

This year’s Culture Days weekend featured nearly 40 activities and events throughout Swift Current, from arts and music to sports and dance. The national initiative was a chance for residents to participate in regular cultural opportunities free of charge, and to take in special events, as well.

Switzer enjoyed sharing the same concert as Yoakam

The inaugural Autumn Fun Fest in Swift Current not only gave residents the opportunity to enjoy performers such as JT Hodges and Dwight Yoakam, but also some talented locals including Dirty Aces, the Hudec Brothers, and Blackwater.

The Lyric Theatre will host Rocktoberfest on Sept. 30, during Swift Current’s great lineup of Culture Days events throughout the entire weekend. The event is a fantastic opportunity to see exciting local performers of all ages showcasing their talents on the stage.

The first snowfall is still a few weeks away, but mixed media fibre artist Louise Perrin has already snow-dyed several yards of fabric.
