Genuine acoustic bluegrass performed by Nova Scotia’s famed Spinney Brothers opens the Empress Theatre’s popular 2011-2012 Centre Stage Series this fall.
The Spinney Brothers fresh and traditional bluegrass will be performed by brothers and group founders Allan Spinney on guitar and vocals, and Rick Spinney on banjo and vocals on Oct. 27 and 28 at 8 p.m in Fort Macleod. Alongside is Gary Dalrymple on mandolin, fiddle and vocals and Terry Mumford on bass and vocals.

Fort Macleod heritage committee putting down roots

Although residents of Fort Macleod and area have worked to ensure their history doesn’t fade away with the Fort Museum and North West Mounted Police (NWMP) Barracks in place, some community members felt that because certain artifacts don’t fall under either jurisdiction, the historical net needed to be widened.
