Artists in the southwest and elsewhere will be welcomed in Val Marie November 9 – 12 for three days of painting to revive their creativity and discover or their expand skills in supportive and comfortable surroundings. 

There have been days fresh in my mind, where I’ve felt a bit like the fifth grader who missed the memo that today is Pajama Day at school — just a little awkward.

Hawksley Workman hits Lyric stage Nov 1

Although his first venture into music was inspired by a simple desire to prove himself to a girl, singer / songwriter Hawksley Workman has managed to become a prolific multi-instrumentalist, with thirteen albums under his belt. Worksman will be bringing his blend of cabaret pop and glam rock to the Lyric Theatre on Nov. 1, as part of the Blenders special concert series.

LaVerne Erickson has been selected among 100 Outstanding Albertans by the Calgary Stampede’s Western Legacy Awards, who in celebration of the Stampede Centennial, has recognized Erickson for his  impact in promoting the values of western hospitality, commitment to community, pride of place and integrity.

To celebrate the release of her first full-length album Mirador, fransaskoise artist Alexis Normand is sharing her blend of folk and jazz music with audiences across Saskatchewan. The album is unique in that it was created with visual artist Zoé Fortier, and inspired by the prairies.
